It looks like it's misunderstanding the block size. It took a few hours to produce this on a new one where I used the original as the De Bruin sequence.

I then tried the sample images from the post, which was much faster (seconds), but it just produced the input image as the output.

Ok, I ran the vanilla command suggested in the README, and that worked! This appears pretty damn fragile, I'm not too worried about it practically at this point, but make sure you avoid those linear box blurs anyway.
