Department of Home Affairs Snooping Tools

Thanks to the Department of Home Affairs, it is now possibly to get a bit more creepy. If you know someone's ID number (not a hard task) you can now find out if they are dead/alive, in the process of obtaining a new ID book or married (and when).

While these would make a great addition to Maltego as new transforms, given how poorly protected our ID numbers are, I'm reluctant for the DHA to be making this info available. While this information certainly isn't a deep invasion of privacy, I am worried about them expanding the service. Additionally, the existence of these services implies that there is a DB full of juicy ID data connected to the internet, and I'm not sure they've secured it very well.

I am trying to source someones ID number to approach them to buy their vacant land which I want, how do I do this?

I am trying to find my biological mother. All I have is her ID number and so far I know that she is still alive and divorced. How do I find out what area she is in?

Dear Sir I have been instructed to find the names of living heirs of three Gentlemen who died in the 1900's in order to deal with a portion of their estates which were never dealt with at the time of their deaths. It is easy to esatblish the heirs of the three Gentlemen but in oder to trace the Master's file of thier heirs and subsequent heirs, it is necessary to establish the date of death of each heir to be able to get to the level of the next set of heirs. In the older liquidation and Distribution Accounts the Identity Number of Heirs are not quoted which makes it impossible to use the above method. Is there any way of establishibg the place and date of death of these heir using their full name? Regards Derek

Dear Sir, I received a birth certificate with no surname on it that was in 1968 when Birth certificates were still hand written, I need to apply for a unbridged birth certifate , but i do not have any of my parents particulars, I am not sure what name my father used cause he had so many names.This really didnt bother me until now, cause i used my married surname, all four of my brothers did not have a surname as well they had to apply for it . i want to find out what would be the names my parents used when they registered

Is it possible to get a I.D number from a date of birth plus names and surname of someone who is dead?
